But did you know that proptech is not something new in the real estate world? Since ancient times, humans have always sought ways to utilize technology to meet the needs for housing, work, and activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, the use of bricks, cement, steel, and glass as building materials; the use of electricity, water, and gas as utilities; the use of elevators, escalators, and air conditioning as facilities; the use of the internet, smartphones, and applications as communication and information tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, what makes proptech so popular and important today? The answer is: change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, changes happening in the world, be it social, economic, environmental, or technological, have brought significant impacts to the property industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These changes demand stakeholders in the property industry to adapt, innovate, and compete in a fast-paced, dynamic, and competitive digital era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this article, I will discuss the impact of proptech on the transformation of the real estate industry in Indonesia, both positive and negative impacts, as well as the opportunities and challenges faced by stakeholders in this sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will also provide some examples of existing and upcoming proptech in Indonesia, as well as suggestions for developing and utilizing proptech optimally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Positive Impact of Proptech<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Proptech has many positive impacts on the property industry, especially in terms of improving efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, and convenience in property business processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are some positive impacts of proptech that we can feel:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expanding the market and increasing accessibility. With proptech, the property market is no longer limited by space and time. Anyone, anywhere, and anytime can access information, bid, buy, sell, rent, or lease property easily and quickly through online platforms, such as property portals, marketplaces, e-commerce, or social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, proptech also enables integration between properties and various other services, such as transportation, banking, insurance, entertainment, and others, thus creating added value for consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Improving quality and productivity. Proptech also helps stakeholders in the property industry to improve the quality and productivity in the planning, construction, management, and maintenance processes of properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This can be achieved by using technologies such as artificial intelligence, internet of things, big data, cloud computing, blockchain, and others, which can collect, analyze, and process data accurately, quickly, and automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
